Item Data
- Collection Title: Loraine Sumner Collection
- Item Title: "Camps"
- ID Number: LS-007
- Date Range: 1956-1974
- Description: Sumner combined sports and motherhood as closely and frequently as she could manage. Often she took summer jobs as a camp counselor or director, because those positions enabled mother and daughter to spend summers together. Debbie especially enjoyed Tower Day Camp, which offered horseback riding, but Sumner worked in a variety of summer camps, some sleepover, some day camps. This compilation gives of taste of those wonderful summers and summer camp culture during the period.
