- Biographical/Historical Note: Every year but one, Margaret & Barbara brought party hats for everyone to family gatherings. The family was so large they had to buy 50. "Otherwise no gifts," Margaret recalled. "The gift was being together." Christmas 1988 they glued a photo of each family member at a younger age on each hat. Each hat was in a cake box they acquired from a friend who owned a bakery. Everyone in the family brought food to Christmas. "Lots of wonderful cooks in our family," Margaret said.
Sequence 2 captures a summer family gathering in York, ME, c. 1990. Sequence 3 records a visit from Margaret's friends Abram and Esther and their son Alejandro from Argentina. Margaret's mother had met Abram when he worked at Albert Einstein in New York where she was nurse.
