    Obituary from The Gainesville Sun, 4-22-2010 "Iris was an inspirational being. Born in Brooklyn, NY and raised in Rutherford, NJ, and then South Florida, she was the daughter of Samuel and Isabell Greenfield. She graduated from UF and was a long time teacher at Loblolly, the first family based alternative school in Gainesville. She went on to become a stained glass artist in Hendersonville, North Carolina. Iris then took her artistry on the road and moved to Key West, Fl. Eventually returning to Gainesville, she became an activities director at several residential senior communities and was known for bringing fun and merriment into the daily routine. Subsequently she worked with kids at an after school program, before working as a social worker for families with children living with disabilities. She made a difference in so many people's lives, bringing joy to everyone she came into contact with. In Gainesville she also taught art classes in her studio and was a Big Sister. Iris's artistic ability seemed to know no bounds, as did her love for all living creatures. Fun was her spiritual path. Her zest for life enriched and inspired those around her.

    Iris touched many lives and will be missed by all, including her sister Carol Greenfield, her son Caeleb Grey, and countless friends who loved her.
