- Biographical/Historical Note: The Gainesville, Florida Lesbian Variety Show began in 1992. With the exception of 2000, an LVS was held annually 22 years. Admission was on a sliding scale. The shows were restricted to women only but the majority welcomed anyone who defined themselves as female.
Shirley Lasseter was involved in the committee that created & kept the show going year after year from the beginning. Everyone who performed had to go through an audition. Everyone who auditioned got in.
